At Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen, wheelchair users enter through the main entrance; a host takes you by elevator to the first floor, where the wheelchair spaces and accessible restrooms are. Book wheelchair spaces by phone or through the contact form, with one companion seat as standard. Arrive at least 40 minutes before the show starts.

Booking wheelchair spaces

Book wheelchair spaces by phone or through the contact form, not on the website. Each wheelchair user has one companion seat as standard; book it at the same time. For safety reasons, wheelchair users can't take a regular seat.

Spaces are limited, so book early. Would you like to sit with your family? Just ask: we'll see what we can do, although it isn't always possible.

Elevator, wheelchair spaces and restrooms

When you arrive, a host meets you at the main entrance and goes with you in the elevator to the first floor. That's where you'll find the wheelchair spaces, the accessible restrooms and the Verona Bar, where you can get a drink before the show and during intermission. After the show, only the ground-floor foyer is open; we're happy to help you get there.

Prepare your visit with the 360° tour

In the 360° tour, click the wheelchair icon for a tailored view: you see where to park in the underground garage, where the wheelchair spaces are in the theater and where the accessible restrooms are.

Accessible parking

With a European disability parking card, you can park in one of three paid garages close to the Stadsschouwburg, each with reserved spaces:

Deaf or hard of hearing

In the theater at Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen, you can listen via Bluetooth, straight through your hearing aid or earbuds. The system uses Auracast: your smartphone and your hearing aid or earbuds need to be Auracast-compatible. It replaces the former hearing loop (T setting).

How to connect:

1. Take your seat in the theater, so you're within range of the antenna.

2. Turn on Bluetooth and connect your smartphone to your hearing aid or earbuds.

3. Scan the QR code on the flyer about the hearing system. Your device connects to the audio stream automatically.

You're welcome to bring an interpreter of your choice. You can also ask the event organizer to provide one, and we'll look into it together.

Autism and sensory needs

For most children's shows, a sensory guide is available on the show's event page. It lists the sensory stimuli you can expect during the show and is usually published a few days after the first performance at one of our venues.

At the box office, you can borrow a sensory toolkit when you show your ticket. It includes fidget toys and noise-reducing headphones for children and adults.
