Parking in surrounding streets no longer possible

Since August 1, 2023, it is no longer possible for visitors to park in the streets surrounding Stadsschouwburg Antwerpen. The city of Antwerp has introduced this measure to reduce parking pressure for local residents. Only residents with a resident parking permit, holders of an EU parking card for people with disabilities and people using a shared car from a professional provider can still park in this zone. So make use of a P+R or one of the above paid car parks. Read more info on Smart Ways to Antwerp.

Market on Saturday and Sunday

Are you coming to the Stadsschouwburg during the weekend? Then keep in mind the markets taking place on Theaterplein and surrounding areas. On Saturday there is the Exotic Market from 8 am to 4 pm. On Sunday, there is the Birds Market from 8 am to 1 pm.

Low emission zone

The entire Antwerp city center and a part of Linkeroever are low emission zones. This means that you are no longer allowed to enter this zone with a polluting car. The Stadsschouwburg lies inside the low emission zone. Take the precaution of checking in advance whether your vehicle is allowed to enter Antwerp. Or even better: park your car at a Park & Ride (P+R) and use public transport for the remainder of your journey.
