Teddy Swims announces new album 'UGLY' for January 2027

Teddy Swims has given his next musical chapter a name. On 22 January 2027, the American singer will release ‘UGLY’ (album pre-order), a new album that sees him looking inward more deeply than ever before. Alongside the announcement, Swims has also released his new single ‘Perfect Man’ today. Two months after the album drops, he will bring The UGLY Tour to the AFAS Dome in Antwerp on 26 and 27 March 2027.

Teddy Swims embraces discomfort on UGLY

Swims wrote the album over the past fifteen months, a period that coincided with the birth of his son. The songs grew out of self-reflection and the changes that came with becoming a father. Responsibility, old behavioural patterns, self-image and personal growth are recurring themes throughout the new record. In that sense, ‘UGLY’ continues the emotional honesty that has become one of Swims’ defining qualities in recent years.

‘Perfect Man’ sets the tone

‘Perfect Man’ offers the first clear glimpse of what to expect from ‘UGLY’. The track starts out as a piano ballad before gradually opening up into a warm, soulful full-band arrangement, complete with backing vocals. Lyrically, Swims explores the pressure of trying to be the best version of yourself for everyone around you – and the impossible expectations that can come with it.

From ‘Lose Control’ to arenas

The timing of ‘UGLY’ highlights just how quickly Teddy Swims’ career has grown in recent years. ‘Lose Control’ became his international breakthrough, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song ultimately spent an impressive 112 weeks on the US chart. Its success helped propel Swims from smaller concert venues to major festivals and arenas.

Belgium has witnessed that rise first-hand. After previous appearances at venues including Trix and the Lotto Arena, Swims took to the Main Stage at Rock Werchter in the summer of 2026. His next Belgian stop will be considerably bigger.

On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 March 2027, Teddy Swims will bring The UGLY Tour to the AFAS Dome in Antwerp.
