Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neeley for the first time in Belgium
Sold-out venues, standing ovations that last for minutes, and enthusiastic responses from the press and audiences. The international rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar captured the hearts of tens of thousands in 2015. The musical masterpiece by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice will be staged in Belgium for the very first time. A unique opportunity to see the 73-year-old Ted Neeley in the role of his life.
This largest English-spoken production of Jesus Chris Superstar, directed by Massimo Piparo, was inspired by the 1973 film of the same name, in which Ted Neeley also shines in the role of Jesus. Ted Neeley was thirty years old when he took on the part of the Son of God on the silver screen. No less than 44 years later, he is still Jesus.
The world-renowned rock opera tells the story of the last week of Jesus’s life, as seen through the eyes of his best friend and traitor, Judas. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical masterpiece, the moving lyrics by Tim Rice and the seasoned Ted Neeley together form a (nearly) holy trinity, and are supported by more than fifty cast members and a live orchestra. Allow yourself to be swept away by wonderful songs such as ‘I don’t know how to love him,’ ‘Superstar’ and the phenomenal ‘Gethsemane.’
Tickets from 54 till 94 euros.
